Processing Time vs. Shipping Time: What's the Difference?

Processing Time vs. Shipping Time

One of the most common points of confusion for new customers is the difference between processing time and shipping time. Here's a clear breakdown of both.

Processing Time

Processing time is the period between when you place your order and when it is handed off to the carrier for shipment.

  • Processing takes up to 14 business days

  • This time covers order preparation, packing, and fulfillment

  • Your order has not yet shipped during this window — no tracking number will be available yet

  • This applies to all orders regardless of the shipping method selected

Shipping Time (Transit Time)

Shipping time (also called transit time) is how long it takes the carrier to deliver your package after it has shipped.

  • This is the estimate shown at checkout (e.g., "5–7 business days")

  • It begins only after your order has been processed and picked up by the carrier

  • You'll receive a tracking number by email once your order ships

Example Timeline

| Event | Timeframe |
|---|---|
| Order placed | Day 0 |
| Order processed & shipped | Up to 14 business days later |
| Delivery (domestic) | 5–14 business days after shipment |

Why Does Processing Take Up to 14 Business Days?

Our products are prepared with care and intention. Many items are handcrafted or prepared in smaller batches, which means we take the time needed to ensure every order goes out at the right time.
